Work With Us

Danielle wiped her face with her sleeve. The profuse perspiration…no – call it sweatpouring over her face was making it hard to see. She grabbed a magazine, fanning herself vigorously… and eventually… her face began to dry. But now her clothes were wilted, and still damp. Her makeup was gone, and her hair was frizzed out. All the effort to get ready this morning, all wasted. Why bother?? These hot flashes ruined more days and more nights than anyone would ever believe. Her mother had always told her, “When ‘the change’ comes, just hang on because everything is so much better when it’s over.” Well, those words were small comfort now. What could be done to relieve menopause symptoms?

She finished out her day at the office, and headed home. She knew she was considered young at 39 for perimenopause…”early onset” they called it. Her mom had started this young, too. But these horrific sweats, her short temper, that “frazzled” feeling all the time. It was the pits.

That didn’t even account for her bouts of confusion, lapse of memory… where were her keys..?? … and tattered ability to try to focus. Her friend called it brain fog…maybe so. But it was slashing her confidence at work.

Add to that the erratic menstrual flow, sometimes barely a dribble, then a sudden flood so heavy it ruined her underwear, her clothes, and the chair she was sitting on. Danielle felt helpless, and often embarrassed and foolish, like she couldn’t manage her life in the least! As she dipped her toe into early midlife, she was not liking it. At all. She desperately wished she could find a way to relieve these menopause symptoms.

Erratic sleep patterns were draining her energy, interspersed with night time sweats that required changing her sleep shirt, putting a towel on the bed to give her a dry place to go back to sleep. Or not… She woke up exhausted, but still had to force herself to function through the day. Sometimes she could drop off to sleep at night, but would wake up again a couple hours later – wide awake. Then, her mind raced with worries, and she tossed and turned for hours, sometimes just drifting off when the alarm blasted her awake again.

More and more off balance, Danielle noticed her hair was thinning. Why?? What could she do to stop it? Her brush filled with so much hair it looked like a small pet, and the shower drain clogged with the stuff. Plus her ability to control her bladder was definitely deteriorating! Danielle had started wearing incontinence pads. It made her feel like an old woman. There’s nothing sexy about a leaking bladder, she thought.

Another co-worker, Melanie, overheard the conversation, and joined in. Melanie seemed to be suffering from many of the same symptoms Danielle described, but added that migraines, heartburn, and indigestion were tormenting her, too. She had become more and more depressed in the last year, and didn’t know what to do about it. Did she have to waitten yearsto relieve menopause symptoms?

Then, one day a co-worker heard her venting about her misery during a coffee break, and told her about Touchpoints 180™ and how much better she was feeling after a couple months in the program. Could it be? Something that could actually relieve menopause symptoms?

Melanie suggested she and Danielle ought to go explore Touchpoints 180™ together. So they called to make appointments.

They both booked their Comprehensive Wellness Evaluations right away. And learned how the symptoms they both experienced were among those caused by the body changes resulting from this perimenopause time of life. Thankfully, the doctor assured them that going through the process of Touchpoints 180™ could relieve those menopause symptoms.

As founder and Medical Director of Touchpoints180™, Dr. Calabrese educates and supports members to relieve menopause symptoms.

Danielle was flabbergasted with all the services and support she found in the Touchpoints 180™ program. Videos – so many in-depth videos!, education, explanations, dietary guidance, movement, journaling, discussions, social connections… and so much encouragement and praise for accomplishments and progress, problem-solving assistance, medical interventions when needed… it was amazing. And it worked.

And through the curriculum she was learning the science behind why it worked. She’d never realized so much went on in her body that led to the problems she had.

She could see that the low carb ketogenic diet would help her with weight loss, and she welcomed that. In the last couple years she had found it harder to manage her weight. Her waistline was expanding steadily, and she was having to buy larger clothes. Her face, arms, and legs were broader, too. And she knew her craving sugar, as in cookies, ice cream, desserts was only making things worse.

But, she never knew, until now, that she had a problem with insulin resistance. When she thought of insulin, she thought of people with diabetes. Now she was learning that when her metabolism malfunctioned, insulin resistance became a very real problem that affected everything.

It was to blame for her poor energy, her outright fatigue, her hormonal fluctuations, her weight gain, her insomnia, her body aches, all of it.

In addition to the “nutrient-dense” diet the dietitian/nutritionist created for her, she realized the curriculum for this program was “nutrient -dense,” too. There was such in-depth education about what happens in the mitochondria, why that affects all sorts of hormones, why better functioning mitochondria can reduce inflammation, which relieves a wide variety of aches and pains all over.

Before Touchpoints 180™ she’d never dreamed all of this. It was the best education she could have imagined investing in for her health, her life satisfaction, her family…and her future.

After 6 weeks in the program, she and Melanie met for lunch to talk about how it was going. At that point, they agreed it hadn’t been that hard to stay in ketosis, as long as they adhered to the prescribed ketogenic dietary plan. Melanie talked about how she’d caved and eaten carbs a couple times, and how it set her back. But she’d learned she could get right back on track and her body would soon recover.

As a result, she had not lost as much weight as Danielle had. But she was still thrilled with the 9 lbs she’d lost, and Danielle was thrilled about the 14 lbs she’d lost. They both were pleased with their mental clarity and improved energy. It seemed all was going as planned.

Melanie had noticed her migraines happened less often, and she was so thankful they were also much shorter in duration. Her indigestion was also improving, but even more important, her outlook was improving so much that she was feeling lighter, and somewhat brighter. This process was relieving her menopause symptoms.

Danielle was so glad for her! She reported less frequent hot flashes so far…which seemed to be less intense. Now she seemed to break out in perspiration rather than the full-on construction worker sweat that had plagued her. They agreed that both their menopausal conditions were improving to some degree. And every little bit helps, right?

Two months later, they saw each other again, and they both expressed how much better they were feeling. They sang the praises of the Touchpoints 180™ program, and all the facets of their health and wellness that were covered.

Danielle made the point that whatever was at the root of this magic, she was so glad she’d found it. Hot flashes had reduced to warm flushes…mild, barely noticeable now. She definitely recognized her emotions had calmed…she wasn’t noticing mood swings, and irritability had all but dissipated. She’d lost 18 lbs, and her clothes fit so much better. She could see she’d be needing to buy a smaller size soon.

And her hair…it was beginning to grow in again! She could see little hairs around her scalp and hairline…could it be?

Melanie heartily agreed. She’d only had one milder migraine since they last saw each other… She’d lost 13 lbs, and she was sleeping through the night. Her clothes fit better, and she was rarely having trouble with indigestion. The aching seemed to have subsided, and hot flashes were so much milder. And – happily – she was waking up much more upbeat nearly every day. This new lifestyle relieved her menopause symptoms.

Danielle hugged Melanie, and told her how glad she was they had launched on this quest together. Danielle said it was one of the most important things she’d ever done for herself, and it was turning out to be life-changing. Melanie agreed, and told her that she was so grateful that her lifelong sugar addiction had been broken.

“I can walk right by a bakery or the cookie aisle at the grocery store, and not be even slightly tempted. I’ve never experienced that before. It’s such a relief!”

They both agreed they intended to continue this lifestyle permanently. This was just a healthier way to live. It was an investment in their bodies, their longevity, their emotional outlook, and their overall wellbeing.

To your best life,
